Description: |
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Mortgage Department.
Oversees the extension of credit for home loans and related U/W, processing, closing, and funding functions. Ensures such lending operations are in
accordance with established policies, procedures, and legal requirements; and result in maximum volume, appropriate profit, and minimum delinquency ratios.
Coordinates and oversees loan and promotion activities, and ensures all subordinate areas of responsibility support HCU objectives and goals. Trains, directs, and appraises assigned personnel.
Ensures services are delivered professionally and efficiently, and members’ problems are resolved promptly.
Pro-actively supports and advances HCU’s brand platform.

Duties: |
Assists the Vice President of Lending in developing short and long-term goals and plans for the Mortgage Department.
Assists with budgeting. Provides suggestions and recommendations.
Develops policies and procedures for Mortgage activities.
Conducts periodic reviews of existing systems and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and legal compliance.
Investigates improvements in lending and promotion practices that will further the objectives of HCU.
Maintains advanced knowledge of HCU products and services.
Coordinates, schedules, and directs Department functions.
Pro-actively supports and advances HCU’s brand platform.

Qualifications: |
A two-year college degree in business, finance, or a related field; or equivalent
experience.
At least five years of progressive experience in lending/mortgage related positions preferred.
Thorough knowledge of HCU mortgage products and applicable policies and standards.
Understanding of government regulations, legal requirements, and secondary market rules involving lending and related functions.
Familiarity with mortgage programs and real estate experience.

- Able to operate related computer applications and business equipment.
This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008. |
