The C.M.A. provides medical and physical care to the residents of the household/neighborhood to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. While this care is provided under the leadership of a professional nurse, the caregiver is the residents’ closest advocate in the household.
Shifts Currently Available: All are Part-time
Various days Monday-Friday 6pm - 10:30pm
E/O Mon, E/O Sat & Sun, E/O Fri 10pm - 6:30am
Every Sunday 6pm-6:30am

Duties: |
| The medication aide distributes physician prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a licensed nurse and within the boundaries of the Nurse Practice Act of the state. As caregiver, the medication aide provides medical and physical care to the residents of the household to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. Accurately and safely prepares, administers and documents the administration of all appropriate, physician-ordered medications and treatments under the leadership of a licensed nurse, in accordance with federal and state regulations, the Nurse Practice Act of the state and professional standards while honoring person-centered and resident-directed care. Attends to the resident personal hygiene, and personal care needs, including but not limited to grooming, hygiene, dining and nutritional, mobility, elimination, psychosocial and safety needs. |
Qualifications: |
GED or High School Graduation Preferred. Valid Medication Aide certification for the State of Kansas. It is the responsibility of the Certified Medication aide to maintain current licensure.
